HOLA AND WELCOME TO UNCLE HUGO'S REEF INN! You will be staying in a private villa with four comfortable, completely furnished studio/kitchenettes. The amenities include Caribbean breeze with an ocean view, linens, toaster, coffee maker, dishes/cooking utensils, table top electric range, refrigerator, ceiling fans, and hammocks. You are within walking distance of the main town square and adjacent to the Caribbean. At mid-day you can go to the city dock and buy fresh fish and lobster to be prepared in the privacy of your own villa. Your studio has one full size bed, one sofa sleeper and hammocks for additional sleeping possibilities. Out your door is a patio or balcony where you can relax and have your morning coffee or just enjoy the ocean view with a constant Caribbean breeze. You will feel at home away from home and part of the community. We are your ecological alternative using solar heated water. Purified bottle water is provided for your drinking and cooking needs.

DAY ACTIVIES: Snorkeling or diving trips, fishing, kiaking or wind surfing, jungle tours or a visit to the regional crocodile zoo or botanical gardens. Yoga and art classes are also offered. Take a day trip to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza, or explore the islands of Cozumel or Isla Mujeres (Isle of Woman). Overnight trips are available to the city of Merida, the ancient architectural city of the Yucatan. While there plan to visit the museums and the local market bazaar with local artisans and their hand made clothing, jewelry, hammocks and leather goods. We at Uncle Hugo's are here to assist you in arranging any of these activities.

Vacationers love Puerto Morelos because it is off the beaten path, yet easily accessible and close to sight seeing. Divers and snorkelers come to explore the splendid coral reef, the second largest Barrier reef, only 200 meters off shore, accessible by swimming or boat. Puerto Morelos' weather is that of the Caribbean, from December through April, the skies are azure blue with low humidity and temperatures ranging from 60 at night to 80's during mid-afternoon. Water temperatures remain a constant 76-78 and the white sand beaches are always cool. The constant offshore breeze brings a cooling freshness to the tropical shoreline.
